Enghlish passive rules

In the passive voice, the noun that would be the object of an active sentence appears as the subject of a sentence with passive voice, so, the action described by the verb is being done to the subject by an agent.
Examples:

The book was read by John in one week. (passive)
2. Mike buys a car. (active)
A car is bought by Mike. (passive)

For, since, ago

For is used to indicate a period of time.
Example:
              - It rained for three days.
               - I studied English for six years.

Since is used to refer to the starting point of actions or situations.
Example:
               - They have been married since 2005.
               - It has not rained since Monday.

Ago is used to say when past events happened, going back from today towards the past.

               - The company was founded 30 years ago.
